Just saw the UC Davis video. Isn't technology amazing?

So at UC Davis police pepper sprayed some "protesters" who were sitting on the ground. My friend went to UC Davis. She definitely would have been with the protest party if she was still going there. At least most of the protesters covered their eyes before the policeman sprayed them. There was no need for that. And before they were sprayed the policeman held the spray can in the air to display it for everyone to see.

Then at UC Berkley some students who had linked arms were jabbed in the gut with night sticks.

Things are getting a little out of hand and I think it's safe to say the police are over-reacting. Granted some protesters have used vandalism and other stupid methods of getting people's attention. Their lack of disrespect should not be stood for. But for policemen to Pepper Spray students sitting on the ground and then literally drag them away in handcuffs... That's F*d up.

I respect policeman and the work that they do. But I think most policeman aren't trained or prepared to handle the unpredictable nature of a mob. And when a group of armed individuals goes to a place where there are hostile or unpredicatble groups of people they are on edge. It's like that guy in ToastMasters says, If you go into a situation expecting something to happen, odds are it will happen. If you are a policeman going with a bunch of other police officers to break up a group of protesters... they didn't exactly bring pepper spray just because they thought it would look nice with their uniforms.

I think the policeman and the protesters don't know what they're doing. It's like watching to people who don't know how to tango try to dance it together. Toes will get stepped on. All the students were doing was 1. Filming the event and 2. Chanting. Nobody was stepping in as the voice of reason and nobody was doing anything that was helping the situation. I believe Jon Stewart would term this a clusterf*ck.

No progress is getting made and people are now getting hurt.
