My Aunt just posted this on her facebook page:
YOUR ARE NOT ALONE
1 in 4 Women Were Sexually Abused Before the Age of 18
Maybe you have never told anyone. Maybe you’ve been actively recovering from the effects of sexual abuse for a long time. Wherever you are in your journey, you can experience God’s healing power to transform you in Door of Hope, a 12-week study for women who were sexually abused as children.
Door of Hope provides a safe and non-threatening environment for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to identify and work through their issues while allowing Jesus to do His healing work. The book was written by Jan Frank a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a sexual abuse survivor.
Fundamentally this group seeks to point survivors to the TRUE counselor, the only one who can bring about deep restoration and peace that is often missing in the depths of wounded souls. This support group is not a therapy group, and the facilitators are not trained therapists.
Some topics of discussion include:
- HEALING EMOTIONAL WOUNDS
- COMMON MISPERCEPTIONS
- FACING THE PROBLEM
- EXPERIENCING FEELINGS
- ESTABLISHING RESPONSIBILITY
- GOD’S REDEEMING WORK
- ACKNOWLEDGING FORGIVENESS
- REBUILDING SELF-IMAGE
- SEXUAL DIFFICULTY IN MARRIAGE
- RESTORATION
Mmmmmmmhmmm. =)
