2 Types

There are two type of people when it comes to the spectrum of morality.

1. On one end there are those who do wrong or immoral things.

2. On the other end are those who don't do good things.

Type 1 will have impulses to commit immoral acts. This is either because they are ignorant of what is right or because they are acting against what they know is right for some other gain. So the solution and prevention for Type 1 is to make sure people Know and are Educated about what is right and wrong as they grow up. This way, whether out of duty or compassion, they will learn to hold themselves accountable. Until then, a parent or guardian should watch over to make sure they behave well and don't do wrong.

Type 2 will not have impulses to do immoral acts, but instead, will have fear or doubt when it comes to doing Good acts. These people will hesitate to act on virtue and take a more passive route in life, not because they don't know what's right but because they think too little of themselves to do it. The solution and prevention for Type 2 is Encouragement and guidance in doing good acts. If Type 2 makes a habit out of acting on what they know is good, they will build confidence in doing future good and out of duty or compassion will then hold themselves accountable. Until then, a parent or guardian should watch over and support them engaging in good acts.

The interesting thing is that Type 1 does not usually hesitate when it comes to doing good. It happens impulsively and is almost effortless. And Type 2 will not easily do something immoral. In fact, it seems to go against their nature and they find it easy to veer away from wrongful acts.

If I had to venture a guess as to why there is a Type 1 and 2, I'd say it stems from the fact that Type 1 people act more on impulse and don't think things through, while Type 2 people think too much and avoid acting impulsively.

  1. I think you should do a write up as to what happens if Type 1 and Type 2 are not changed from their ways.

Heck, I'll do it for you:

Type 1 will act on what is wrong although knowing what is right. This is true. And the typical reasons are, as you correctly stated, for personal gain of some kind.

But if Type 1 keeps up with this, they will no longer understand what is right or wrong. Their wrong actions become right, in their minds. Their conscience is no longer working.

Hence, truly evil people don't think that they are evil. Bible says that whores lick their lips after "eating" and say "What wrong did I do?"

Type two, if it progresses, leads to serious apathy and laziness. As you said, fear gets in the way. Type two would counteract the evil of type 1 if it acted, but since it doesn't, it allows type 1 to have its way and is in the end just as evil as type 1.
