Quote Response 5

“The beauty of religious mania is that it has the power to explain everything. Once God (or Satan) is accepted as the first cause of everything which happens in the mortal world, nothing is left to chance…logic can be happily tossed out the window.”  -Stephen King

I respectfully disagree Mr. King. You say that God or Satan has no place in logic as to the explanation of the world's or our own existence, let alone anything that falls there from. That by acknowledging God we no longer believe in Coincidence and everything falls to Fate. That religion itself allows us a free space to cast our practical reasonings aside and jump to random conclusions.

If this were true, no one would take religion seriously. No one. Granted there are those who do not think and just speak ignorance's and are then associated with whichever religion they are representing, but that does not mean the majority of people opt for this. Most people are Reasonable and Logical. More importantly, when you are logical and scientific about how this world came into creation and what it is today -between the rare instances that occurred to allow this planet to grow life to the complexities reflected in it's design there are few if any other logical explanations for why we and this planet exist today that do not involve some higher instance of Fate and Creator.

You can't say that this is by chance when you look at any field that can be studied on depth. Be it the Ocean, Psychology, Physics, Biology, Astronomy... you will find God in any and all things. It's because at some point facts defy logical explanation. They delve beyond the point of coincidence. I learned this lesson from a book called Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Believe it or not, there are things that stand out in this life that transcend logic. It is a space where you can only admire that which you behold and can give no other explanation than He exists.

Religion has been around longer than the concept of God. Do you think Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Albert Einstein, Di Vinci... were illogical and unintelligent? Each acknowledged that higher force. It is illogical at this point not to.

  1. A well said rebuke! Stephen King has a very shallow view of God.
