Amazing Movies

I've lost it. There was a lot of stuff I wanted to say about Sherlock Holmes 2 and Hugo, but now I don't feel like it. I expected little of the movies initially and I was overwhelmed by how amazing they were in the end.

  1. Sherlock Holmes inspired me to action. Maybe because he's an Aries and prone to action, or maybe because he was leading an ideal, but I felt motivated to action by Sherlock. There are some movies I wish I could have on speed dial so I can get pumped up byt them and Act on that energy. Braveheart and Avatar are good examples. Now Sherlock Holmes 2.

Hugo started off random and weird, but then things started coming together and I was drawn into the film. I kept thinking his father wasn't really dead and that he'd magically come around the corner and save the day. You can't help but feel for that kid. He's working and just trying to scrape by. He has nothing but that stupid atomaton and the hope that it would have a message from his father in it. But not once does he complain. He hides his issues out of necessity, but he also never complains about his circumstances to anyone. Not until the end, and then it's only to get the atomaton to the old man who made it. That got me. How can your heart not beat with that moment? And the struggles of the old man were ones I've had and fear as well. When dreams meet reality they are sometimes crushed. What use does creativity and vision serve when it's not tangible or practical to start with? Art will always be less than war. Music will always be less than starvation. Dance will always mean less than dirty clothes needing to be washed. We sell our dreams for earth. We lose our vision for physical site. It seems so useless. And when art is somebodys passion and a part of their purpose, they then feel useless. The boy Hugo wanted to fix the old man and let him know he still mattered. His art still had purpose as did he. I was beautiful.
