Prompts 2 and 3

Prompt 2: How do you feel about the symbol of the cross? Should it be praised? Should we charish it? Thoughts.

Prompt 3: FirstFruit. Thoughts?

First prompts first...

In conclusion: Monuments are rectified to commemorate and bring respect to important people and important acts -the Cross representing the Crucifixion of Christ being the most well known and memorable.
Accessories are meant to adorn clothes to make the consumer appear more attractive in some fashion. The more jewels and bling that a cross has on it, the more the consumer clearly cares for God and the sacrifices He made for mankind. *

Prompt 3: First Fruit.

Wells... In terms of Bible, this phrase probably refers to the first Followers of Jesus or Judaism. And the thing about fruit is it come from the same source -a tree that bears it and gives life and nutrients to that which comes forth from it. Jesus is a Tree of Eternal Life in this metaphor. Now some people thought that since they were around longer, being more devoted and practicing rituals for a longer time that they deserved to go to heaven over others who were just coming into the religion. A man who had devoted his entire life to God for 40 years might be a little upset a man who just heard about God still gets to go to heaven even though he didn't do his "time".

When it comes to fruit -it doesn't matter which came first, second, or last -they are All the Same. The only differences between them are some are rotten and some are good. Other than that, when they came makes no differences. Jesus has made this point before. It's good one.

* Prompt 2: It's interesting hat this topic came up. I don't know if I blogged about my Thanksgiving at my mom's house, but at one point we went into town because they were having a Christmas art fair. The most common repetitive booths were Bling -Bling on purses, Bling on Shirts, Bling on Necklace-Earing-Bracelet-Watches, Bling on shoes... And my friend Chelsie saw a Cross necklace that had been Bedazzled into oblivion. Her mom has crosses and actually collect them. Her mom is pretty spiritual, although she's not exactly wandering down God's path right now. Chelsie bought the necklace for her mom for Christmas. I guess the Symbol means different things to different people. I don't care so much about How it is represented, but more: What does it represent to you? If it means nothing and just matches your shirt... I pity you. If it just represents Christ's death... I pity you. It if represents God's love for humanity and the sacrifice He was willing to make to save people from themselves... God bless you.

  1. "The more jewels and bling that a cross has on it, the more the consumer clearly cares for God and the sacrifices He made for mankind." --- I'm not sure if you were joking are serious here.

The cross is an interesting concept. Never is there a command to worship it in the Bible...yet people do. While it a good reminder of what happened --- it should never take the place of any kind of praise.

If this is not stopped, we can get into the direction of Catholics and begin worshipping and kissing crosses and making them into idols.

There's nothing blingy or sweet or fashionable about the cross...it's a sign of reproach. It was disgusting. It represents the worst day in human history. But we'll get more into that at end of John...

Your words on firstfruits is totally accurate...totally! But firstfruit actually refers to making sure, that when it comes to God, we give him our best. The firstfruits. Not leftovers.

  2. "I'm not sure if you were joking are serious here."

You genuinely thought I may have been serious. That since someone owns a cross with more bling on it, they love God more? It's called sarcasm...

Secondly, People worship crosses? Are you serious? Jesus died on te cross, He wasn't "one with the cross". Why would someone worship a cross? People...
