DBV 1-13-14

"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." – James 5:15-16 (NIV)

Thoughts: This is an interesting quote. Mostly the part about "confess your sins to each other and pray for each other" because usually the opposite takes place -especially among religious people. They will hide their sins/issues/flaws/mistakes/wrong doings and pretend like everything is fine. The when others find out what they've done, those people condemn them. It's a cycle of hidden harms and open criticism. Rarely if ever do people go to one another to specifically confess/open up about their issues. And unless someone is dying, no one really prays for other people. If the church, religious people, spiritual people, and society in general practiced being open about their issues and prayed for one another it would be an entirely different world we live in.
