Too Weak

A poem because I'm sick and have been watching too much of Button Poetry lately:

"Sometimes I cry when I cough.
Too weak to hold back the tears.
Too weak to pretend I'm not aching.
Too weak to pretend the fever isn't breaking... me.
Too weak to pretend I'm not tired.
Too weak to pretend my eyes aren't strained.
Too weak to pretend nothing is wrong.
Too weak to pretend everything is fine.
Too weak to pretend I'm not weak."
