Promptsies!

#1 Making Definite Plans v. Whatever Will Be Will Be

#2 Compare and Contrast Katy Perry's "Firework" lyrics to Whiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild, and Free"

#3 "Kingdom of God" -Here on Earth or only in Heaven?

#4 The danger of seaking wealth in a deceptive way

#1 I'm going Middle Path on this one. The benefits of planning things out usually include being able to know what will likely happen in advanced, being prepared for a specific event or events, taking the time to figure things out ahead of time while others get lost in the fray. Disadvanatges of planning usually involve not being able to enjoy the unexpected or to incorporate it into your plans, not being flexible to change, failing to meet the plan or live up to it. Going with the flow is a lot easier, it takes little effort, it mostly involves patience and waiting, you aren't guaranteed what will happen, you don't usually hit your goals that way, you leave yourself open and flexible to new opportunities, but your caught off guard and unprepared due to lack of planning. It's best to have both.

#2

"Fireworks" -Katy Perry

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
drifting through the wind
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
like a house of cards,
one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
'Cause there's a spark in you
You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time, you'll know
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you

Wiz Khalifa – Young, Wild & Free Lyrics

  1. Whose Idea was it to get those lyricas again???.... Urghz. It didn't include EVERYTHING I had typed below the lyrics in response to prompts 1-4. Fail.

#1 Choose the Middle Path. There are benefits and disadvantages to both planning and going with the flow. For instance I planned on writing these prompts, but did not plan for the lyrics to muck everything up. Now I'm going with the flow and creating a new plan -like destroying all Lyric Forums.

#2 Katy and the Wiz's songs both appeal to the younger generation. Katy's song is intended to uplift and inspire young teens not to give up on themselves and feel useless and unappreciated when they are judged and bullied by others. Her song encourages people to be themselves in a more confident way to overcome life challenges. The Wiz is singing more in a defensively passive way saying, "Yah this is my stile and my interest -so what?" He is telling the younger generation not to worry about being judged by the lder generation for being "young" -which he associates with smoking weed and sleeping around. Both singers are defending the young -Katy is doing it to help teens and possibly prevent suicide while The Wiz is doing it to allow the younger generation to feel more at ease about doing things others deem wrong. Katy is defending people's personality, spirit, and character while The Wiz is defending certain habits and activities teens do.

#3 Kingdom of God. I cant believe I have to write this again. Ok...

The King may live in a certain Castle in a certain land, but that doesn't mean that is the whole of his Kingdom. The king's territory is marked by wherever he has claimed his domain. It is wherever he has made his post and instilled the culture and given the land out to his people.

God may live primarily in Heaven, but His kingdom is everything He claims under His dominion. God created Earth, mankind, animals, and plants. They are all His. A person can deny this fact, but they can't change it. God's Kingdom is wherever His creations are. And He can sit atop His castle and look out over His vast region that he reigns over.

#4 Deceptively wealthy. Putting the value of money before the value of human relationships and trust will leave you empty handed when it comes to being close to people. Even if you get away with it, the deed is done and has now defined your character. You are a deceptive Scrooge. You can distrat yourself by buying crap all you like, but if there is no feeling of guilt in your heart you took it and threw it out to sea. How do you get your heart back when you've purposely abandoned it? And your sense of duty to morals has gone right out the window with it. It's a wasted life. I guess that's the cost of lying with your intentions.

This is a special side note, but today 5 people were randomly asked in WFG why recruiting people is important. I wrote down in my notebook: We share the opportunity with people and all the benefits that go with joining and we allow ourselves the chance to grow as leaders.

4/5 people said it was for Financial/Time Freedom and to have a team doing more work so they could do less.

1/5 People said it was to help others.

I think the 4/5 people are short sited and the 1/5 person is just trying to look good. Using people to do anything is wrong. People aren't meant to be used as tools -especially for someone else's personal gain. "I want to recruit so i don't have to work anymore" Financial and Time Freedom will eventually come as a reward to your work, but it should not be your main reason.

The "instructor" who asked the question said the reason we recruit is to get promoted and to promote the people we bring in.

  2. Well, I think Katy and Whiz's messages directly clash with one another. One says that we have the ability to succeed based on simply our will, the other song says "who cares let's get wasted".

One has a definite future, one has no future.

I think the middle way, as you said above, is the right path to take.

"God may live primarily in Heaven, but His kingdom is everything He claims under His dominion. God created Earth, mankind, animals, and plants. They are all His. A person can deny this fact, but they can't change it. God's Kingdom is wherever His creations are. And He can sit atop His castle and look out over His vast region that he reigns over."

---- Yes indeed. =) What you say here is Biblical truth, but this truth is under assault right now. Again, you figure something very profound out without even having the Bible tell you.

  3. Wait, what part of that is under assault? And why?

  4. Well, there are people who believe that God will establish a 1,000 year kingdom here on earth, in the future. And they say that His Kingdom is, therefore, not yet seen here on earth.

You may have heard of a very popular book series called "Left Behind", which advocates this view...

  5. Never heard of it, or the 1000 year notion. I think Earth is still God's kingdom ultimately, but Satan still seeps into it, ruining it. I think after the Final Judgement, then God will reign over Earth completely and evil will be removed.

  6. Pretty much --- except everyone moves to heaven and earth is no longer needed. This place is very stained with sin, unfortunately.

  7. You're saying this place is sacked so we're moving to heaven and leaving this place to disintigrate from erosion? I suppose it would do that anyway given enough time. Earth isn't infnite, it will die too one day.

  8. Very true as well. Even without God's help, this place would decay away with time.
