Simplicity/Authority/Acceptance

Simplicity

Humans have a wonderful capacity to over-complicate things. I think it comes from our sense of insecurity with the unruly world we are in and the drive to control every aspect of our unpredictable life. If you put lions in cages and put cities where dark forests are and have security centers next to security centers across from more security centers at every airport and trim every hedge so nothing grows in its own way and not the way you want it to... Then Everything will be Fine. Nothing bad will happen.

One of the saddest, most frustrating things to see as an artist is the work of another artist that is overworked. It's close to perfection but tries too hard to reach it and becomes strained and overly complex. People need to learn the art of just letting things be.

We did not create this world, ourselves, or anything else on this planet. So why do we think we can control every aspect of this life? I'm with Thoreau, "Simplify, simplify, simplify..." Sometimes it's o.k . to let life run its course and just hang on for the ride and not stress and worry and control things that don't happen exactly as you plan. When your treading your own life, the path will never be as clear and distinct as you want it. You need to be versatile enough to know that which you can change and that which you must accept. Sometimes we confuse the two, and people try to perfect things that do not need to be tampered with. Let life be Simple.

Authority

I don't want to be a leader. It's not in my nature. But if I'm going to Lead my own life and not follow along with what others want me to do with it, I have to learn to lead.

People are afraid of taking charge. It means they have to allow themselves to be criticized and held accountable for their actions. It means they have to step up their game and change.  A 24 year old at the company who is making 6 figures a year said that when he joined the company 5 years ago, he was insecure about the fact that he was so young and didn't know everything. But now he has to step up because he needs people in their 50s to take him seriously. So he dresses and acts older than his age, and to be honest I actually thought he was around 29 years old when I first saw him. He reminds me of Leonardo DiCaprio in the way he speaks to people. He goes strait for the truth and fact and lays things out clear for people to see. He earn people's trust and respect through his level, unwavering tone of confidence and his honesty. Competency and leadership are not the product of any age, but are the product of growth which comes from experience and a willingness to progress and learn.

If you want to lead people, you have to lead your life and encourage others to do the same. A leader enhances their followers strengths, helps them work through and overcome their weaknesses, and inspires them to do the same for others. A Leader is someone who inspires others to Lead and Achieve by living as an example.

Acceptance

God loves variety. This life is a varied existence. Nothing is ever the same. From the billions of different types of animals, plants, and other forms that nature can come in to the different experiences and thoughts and actions people are capable of having... Life is Variety. This cannot be changed. It can be resisted, it can be destroyed, it can be vilified, it can be suppressed... but it can ultimately Never be changed. It is a given. Accept it.

The last couple people I heard of trying to change this reality of life either imprisoned or killed. Anders Behring Breivik -the guy who killed about 90 people in Europe not that long ago -was against Multicultural Society. Osama Bin Laden killed thousands for being different in a way he didn't approve of. Hitler is probably the epitome of what can happen when a person tries to alter and change life because he takes issue with some aspect of its natural variety -in this case the variety found in people's religions an cultures.

I'm realizing more and more things about human nature these days, especially with regard to the Zodiac signs, and the one conclusion I keep seeing over and over is that 1. People are inherently different and 2. People can always and are always changing whether they realize it or not. When people acknowledge who they are, they can overcome flaws and become greater. To do this they need to develop good, successful habits. They learn these by being around others who exhibit those desired habits and practicing those habits themselves.

No one is perfect. But the way to change this is by getting uncomfortable. The people who an help you change in the ways you need to are usually not easy to be around. They make you feel like you are lacking in some areas and people would rather ignore their flaws than be around those who constantly remind them of those short comings. It's easy to be around people who are the same as you -you always agree and you always feel normal. You also never grow. For someone who is completely dependent on others to hang around with someone who is completely independent -these are areas the two individuals will not initially come to see eye to eye on or connect through. But in time, if a bridge is allowed to grow between them naturally, then they will both start to meet somewhere in the middle. This is the Goal.

Life is about variety, but is also about Balance. Finding a fulfilled, happy life cannot happen unless you grow to overcome these short comings by 1. Being around people he did not naturally get along with on that level and 2. Needing to grow. Personal development is something people only suffer by when they lack it. We Need to grow and we Need to get along with others to do so. There is no way this is mere coincidence.

Humanity is Perfect. Not individually, but as a whole it reflects All aspects of God. Unfortunately man is flawed by allowing negative influences like Hate to destroy his True Nature. This is why Love and Acceptance and Compassion and Empathy are Needed by people to reach Perfection and achieve the Divine.

  1. I'm blessed once more by Pisches. =)

(by the way, how does one say "Pisches"? Pee-shays? That's how I would say it. Pie-Schees?)

I'm totally down with simplicity. Like you say, if we make things overly complicated, we miss the main point. Did you know that the main point of Christianity is to help those who are helpless? To show justice to the oppressed? To set the captives free?

But Christianity has been so bogged down with so much crap that people forget this simple message, in which there is so much power.

Perhaps you are never meant to be a leader...but please remember that there is just as much strength as being a supporter of a leader you believe in. For a leader without support cannot succeed in his/her goals. Even in terms of my speeches over the weekend, I see how your thoughts give more depth to mine. It's like, my thoughts are 2D, but you bring them close to 3D.

Even I would gladly be that kind of support for a leader in whom I believe.

Bible says that a leader is also a servant to others. =)

Your words on acceptance are incredibly spot on to what I said... (you always get one perfectly right. Like you could have said the speech yourself. It's uncanny.)

As you said, accepting our shortcomings is the only way to advance! When we try to artificially cover up our flaws, we never deal with them. Jesus said "I came for the (spiritually) sick, not the righteous".

A person who pretends to be perfect also allows no space for God to work with them, hence God is not see in them.

  2. "Pisches" is pronounced Peesh-ez.

    So true.
